Recognizing and Repairing Plagiarism

Self Plagiarism

Self Plagiarism: When a writer borrows extensively from his/her previous work rather than creating a new work.

Self-plagiarism occurs when you submit your own previous work for another class. You cannot submit parts or all of a paper or other assignment that you have created in another class without permission of the original professor and the current professor.

This does not mean that you cannot build on work you have already created -- just get your professor's permission to do so!
